Artists Exchange: Making Work is a month-long online professional development program designed for emerging and early career artists across regional and remote Queensland. The program offers a supportive and welcoming environment where artists can connect, share current work, and participate in constructive peer critique sessions.
Across four weekly online sessions, participants will take part in ‘show and tell’ style discussions focused on artwork feedback, creative development, and building confidence within a community of peers. Sessions are intentionally small, with up to eight artists per group.
The program will be facilitated by Dr Holly Arden (Flying Arts; former Director of Townsville City Galleries) and Alison McDonald, a Gurambilbarra/Townsville-based artist and recipient of the 2025 Art for Life Award at the Queensland Regional Art Awards.
Participants can choose between a morning or afternoon session running across the following Mondays:
- July 6
- July 13
- July 20
- July 27, 2026
Morning sessions run from 10:00am – 11:15am, while afternoon sessions run from 3:30pm – 4:45pm.
The program is suitable for artists aged 18+ working across all media who are open to giving and receiving thoughtful and constructive feedback.
Applications close Friday June 5, 2026 at 4:00pm. Spaces are limited and interested artists are encouraged to apply early.
