Autumn Salon brings together a rich selection of Indigenous and contemporary artworks, reflecting the seasonal shift from growth to reflection, harvest, and release. Drawing from the gallery’s stockroom, the exhibition explores the symbolic and visual language of autumn through warm, earthy palettes—deep reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and soft greens.
Featuring over thirty works, the exhibition balances light and dark, with artists responding to the season through colour, texture, and a shared sense of renewal. Contemporary artists including Ann Thomson, Gilang Fradika, Idris Murphy, Jeff Makin, Mirra Whale, Peter Hudson, Sophie Cape, and Steve Lopes are presented alongside significant works by leading Aboriginal artists.
Highlights include paintings by Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre, Kudditji Kngwarreye, Lucy Loomoo, Ningura Napurrula, Paddy Stewart Tjapaltjarri, Phyllis Thomas, Rusty Peters, and Thomas Tjapaltjarri, bringing depth and cultural resonance to the exhibition.
With no formal opening event, Autumn Salon invites a quieter engagement—encouraging viewers to reflect on seasonal change through a diverse and thoughtfully curated collection.
