Convergent Bodies, First Leap is a solo exhibition by Bianca Tainsh, presenting the initial manifestation of new experimental work developed during her 11-week OCCUPY Residency.
The exhibition explores self-identification with other interspecies bodies and imagines a speculative posthuman future in which technology acts as an ecological steward and interlocutor for entanglement with the more-than-human.
During the residency, Tainsh has developed an extensive archive of organic artefacts and digital documentation, alongside aesthetic and conceptual research into microscopic and subterranean realms and the relational and metaphysical entanglement of species. Her approach embraces the asymmetries of decay, sexual manifestation and symbiosis.
Opening Night: Friday 18 September, 5–8pm
