Now in its 21st year, the Bowness Photography Prize is Australia’s most prestigious photography award, offering a total prize pool of $70,000 and significant opportunities for exhibition and acquisition.

Open to artists working with still photo-based media—including analogue and digital photography—entries must have been produced within the last year. The prize supports contemporary photographic practice across diverse approaches and formats.

The judging panel will award a $50,000 first prize, alongside two honourable mentions of $2,500 each. Additional opportunities include the People’s Choice Award and the Wai Tang Commission ($10,000 plus a solo exhibition). All shortlisted artists will receive loan fees for exhibiting their work.

Eligibility: Open to Australian artists (Brisbane-based artists are eligible)
