Brisbane Powerhouse

The Brisbane Portrait Prize is a new cultural event for Brisbane that will showcase the best in contemporary portraiture and celebrate the character of the city and those who make it what it is.

The prize will be the pre-eminent portraiture award in Queensland, held annually at Brisbane Powerhouse.

The first prize is the $50,000 Lord Mayor’s Prize. There is also a $10,000 Digital Prize, a $5,000 Women’s Prize, a $7,500 Performing Arts & Music Award and The Courier Mail People’s Choice Prize of $7,500, for a total prize pool of $80,000.

Artists practising across all mediums, including digital, are invited to choose their subjects and enter before 23 Aug 2019.
