Volunteering is a great way to enjoy Brisbane Writers Festival from the inside, learn new skills and be involved in making it all happen.
BWF would be impossible to run without the energy and contribution of our wonderful volunteers. Volunteer roles are offered year round in a variety of fields including arts administration, marketing, digital media, sponsorship, copywriting, program support and event management.
In terms of festival roles, we generally request 20 hours over the course of the event in exchange for free passes to festival events, a t-shirt, lunch per shift worked and a certificate of participation.
We will also have some opportunities for anyone interested in taking on leadership volunteer positions. We will be looking for people with previous experience in a management capacity who are committed to becoming more involved with BWF in the long term.
BWF actively welcomes expressions of interest from Indigenous Australians, Torres Straight Islanders, people with disabilities, and people with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds to apply for any of our volunteer or internship positions.
