Oxiana is an attempt to reposition oneself in relation to our past. It started with the use of relief sculpture as a response to an in-between space and has been a journey negotiating dualities including the process of carving and casting.
The space between China and Europe represents the unknown. Between Alexander, Darius and Mao, and so many others who occupied a path in geography and time which has seen the traffic of ultramarine, silk, thought and techniques.
