“I have been told truck-stop blow jobs are a thing.”
PS. Dad’s a Trucker.
Callum McGrath is an emerging Brisbane artist currently completing his Honours in Visual Art at the Queensland University of Technology. Through video and installation, Callum’s work seeks to transcend the heterosexual and masculine constructs of the screen. In this project the truck becomes the site of contemplation, weaving personal history and narrative with research into theories on the social construction of identity, postmodernism and systems of language. The work attempts to articulate the relationship that queer gender identity has with the heteronormative screen as a mode of social construction.
