Christian Flynn was born in Innisfail, Queensland in 1978. A graduate of the Queensland College of Art, Flynn was awarded a Masters of Fine Art with First Class Honours in 2007. Flynn’s interest in pop culture, particularly video games and science fiction, is articulated within his work. The vivid colouring of his geometric renderings strikes a chord with the visual expressions of these sub culture genres.

Flynn has exhibited widely, with works included in institutional group exhibitions including: Fresh Cut, Institute of Modern Art (2006); Interpretive Matter: Looking at Abstraction in Australian Art, Redcliffe City Art Gallery (2010) & Moreton Bay Regional Art Gallery (2012); 15 Artists, Redcliffe City Art Gallery (2012).  He is a past finalist of the Sunshine Coast Art Prize (2012 & 2013), Fleurieu Art Prize (2013), Gold Coast City Art Prize (2012), and Hobart City Art Prize (2012). In 2014, Flynn was the recipient of the Milburn Art Prize. His work is represented in the Griffith University Art Collection and the University of Queensland Art Museum.
