As part of The Subtropic Complex, the IMA is pleased to present a new work by Clark Beaumont, Showtime. Clark Beaumont is the Brisbane based collaborative duo Nicole Beaumont and Sarah Clark. Their participatory performance aims to further instrumentalise the role of the audience within their practice. Join us for drinks and to participate in their new work on Friday, 21 November, at 6pm.
Clark Beaumont is the Brisbane based collaborative duo Nicole Beaumont and Sarah Clark. Through both live and mediated performance works they investigate ideas and constructs around identity, female subjectivity, intimacy and interpersonal relationships. Clark Beaumont are the subjects for their work, and their collaboration means exploring the social and physical dynamics of working together to create artwork. Clark Beaumont formed in 2010, since beginning their collaboration, the duo have presented live performances, videos and installations nationally and internationally in both group and solo shows. In 2013, Clark Beaumont were the 13th artist added to the 13 Rooms exhibition, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Klaus Biesenbach. This year, Clark Beaumont held a solo exhibition at Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney, were selected as a finalist for The Churchie Art Prize and received QAGOMA’s Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship.
