About the workshop
In this workshop you’ll learn the techniques of coiled basketry, from weaving to stitching, with experienced visual artist and weaver, Casselle Mountford. You’ll pick from a variety of colourful ropes to create your own coiled vessel to take home.
Suitable for ages 12 years and above. No prior experience necessary.

About Casselle
Casselle Mountford has over 20 years’ experience as a practicing artist and qualified visual arts teacher. She has taught fibre arts and sculpture courses at the Brisbane Institute of art, works as an arts tutor with Flying Arts Alliance and regularly teaches visual arts in High Schools in Brisbane.
Casselle’s creative practice spans environmental sculpture, fibre art, weaving, felt and clay. Her sculptural installations have featured in private and regional galleries throughout Australia and her site-specific sculptures have been exhibited in various outdoor locations including the Strand Ephemera in Townsville, Casuarina beach sculpture walk in NSW and Sculpture by the Sea in Noosa. In addition, Casselle has completed artist residencies at Bundanon in NSW, Mt Coot-tha Botanic gardens in Brisbane and at the Lines in the Sand Festival on Stradbroke Island.
