Social distancing, lockdowns and border closures can make it difficult to stay connected with others. Through wearing sentimental jewellery close to the body when we cannot hug a loved one, or cherishing a gifted object during isolated lock-downs we are able to evoke feelings and memories and hold onto and maintain these connections even when both touch and words fail.
‘Commune with Me’ is an exhibition featuring jewellery and small objects made by past and present J&SO collective members. The various artist styles and techniques exhibited encapsulate the diverse languages and enduring communicative powers of jewellery and small objects.
All items are for sale. This exhibition is a great opportunity to support local artists and find unique handmade Christmas gifts.
