Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts invites artists working in traditional and digital print media to participate in Compact Prints 2026, an international print exhibition, auction and artwork exchange.
Each participating artist contributes three identical prints from one artwork edition. One print is exhibited and retained by Umbrella for archiving and potential touring, one is auctioned to raise funds for Umbrella, and one is exchanged with another participating artist through a random selection process.
Artists must:
- Pay a $30 AUD registration fee
- Submit one artwork edition consisting of three identical prints
- Use paper measuring 12 × 12cm
- Ensure printing is the primary method
- Submit work created in 2025 or 2026
- Submit artwork details by 5pm Friday 9 October
- Deliver or post all three prints by 5pm Friday 23 October
There is no set theme. Digital prints must involve manipulation before printing and cannot simply be photographs.
Artists are responsible for production and delivery costs. Umbrella covers the return postage of the exchange print. The exhibited print becomes the property of Umbrella, while copyright remains with the artist. For auctioned works, Umbrella retains 100% of the sale proceeds.
