Ella and House Conspiracy acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and create. We pay our respect to their Elders and their cultures living through time and space.
Ella Callander is a Meanjin based artist who creates diagrammatic representations of intangible thoughts, memories, and feelings in relation to Australian suburbia and the everyday. She seeks to represent overlooked or underappreciated, yet widely experienced aspects of the ordinary and the mundane, encouraging the analysis and categorisation of passing thought.
In her first solo exhibition, Constants, Callander devises their own typography and symbology, implicating the viewer into a system of visual linguistics, analysis and communication. Thinking and feeling something about the everyday, about that which falls away from your mind before it’s even had a chance to land.
