Portals is an exhibition of landscape paintings which engage with Romantic sentiment for nature, yet at the same time, interrupt this sentimentality through painterly means.
Picturesque gardens, mountains and shoreline are represented through hurried brushstrokes, unnatural colour and cropped compositions, offering representations of nature which gently unsettle the idyllic vision of landscape of our imaginations.
