Deadline:

Metro Arts

For The time of light, Brisbane-based artist Courtney Coombs responds to the unique role of light in the Metro Arts galleries. Like many Brisbane-based artists, Courtney Coombs first exhibited at Metro Arts as a student, through Metro Art’ partnership with QUT student collective, Post Datum (formerly known as Datum). Since graduating, they have exhibited in both galleries in a number of solo and group exhibitions. In addition, Courtney has utilized a number of studio spaces, was selected as part of the artist-in-residence program, was a co-director of two Brisbane-based ARIs that were housed at Metro Arts at one time or another, and has presented a number of workshops, artist talks and performance works throughout the building. With tenderness and reflection, this exhibition acts as a loving farewell to the space.
