Live the dream of being a professional curator. Be introduced to the role of the curator and the principles of planning, developing and implementing exhibitions, under the guidance of experienced curator Simone Oriti. Over one weekend intensive (Saturday and Sunday) and three Saturday follow up sessions you will cover foundation principles coupled with practical components necessary to stage an exhibition as part of the course.

Final sessions will involve installing the exhibition you’ve curated, followed by a formal review and evaluation and feedback. To work as a team in an active learning program, additional personal work outside of the formal workshop times will be required. Assignment tasks will be set throughout the process to be completed by deadlines to ensure the best possible outcome for your portfolio.

Dates: 6 August – 19 November, Exhibition from 7 December – 21 January
Venue: Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts
Cost: $380 ($365 for Flying Arts members)

Registration Requirements: To register for this course you will need to upload a biography, CV and answer a few questions. Inclusion of images of your work is optional. Once registrations close a selection panel will select the successful applicants. Places are limited to a maximum of 6 people.
