Dan Kyle presents Place of Peace, A Mountain that Speaks, a new solo exhibition exploring the evolving relationship between artist and landscape through painting, collage and mixed media.
Working from his home studio on Dharug Country, Kyle draws inspiration from the mountains, bushland and waterways that surround his daily life. Rather than depicting landscape as scenery alone, the exhibition reflects years of quiet observation and repeated visits to familiar places, revealing how subtle shifts in light, weather and season continually transform the environment.
The exhibition considers landscape as a living archive, where rock shelters, creek beds and animal tracks speak of deep histories and ongoing ecological presence. Through richly layered surfaces and expressive mark-making, Kyle invites viewers to slow down, observe closely and reconnect with their own experiences of the natural world.
