‘Deuce’ is Brisbane artist Brandon Specht’s second solo exhibition. Playing outside the conventional, with hardly a brush-mark in sight, he mixes enamel, acrylic and water-based paints together on the canvas at different stages of the drying process.
The result is work which is evocative of landscape-like forms and textures; from the natural world: swirling forms reminiscent of vast skies, geological strata, bodies of water and satellite imagery.
‘Deuce’ is a collection of 21 works that Specht says represents, “The change and transition of lifestyle as an Australian currently residing in the Middle East.”
