For several years now David has been performing under the alias David Ethix, the obnoxious Goth character who plays guitar in the Subtropical Goth band ∑GG√EIN. The alter ego necessitates a totally separate state of being for the life of the performance, when the applause ends he goes back to being David M Thomas. Now the original Subtropical Goth is Jarrod Van Der Ryken, who is Subtropical Goth 24/7.
