Entries are now open for the Evelyn Chapman Art Award 2026, a prestigious biennial award supporting the professional development of emerging Australian painters.
Presented by the S.H. Ervin Gallery, the award provides $60,000 to assist an Australian painter working in oil or tempera to undertake further study over a two-year period at a recognised art school or cultural organisation in Australia or overseas.
Established to encourage excellence in painting, the award invests in the recipient’s artistic education and career development through international or Australian study opportunities.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be under 45 years of age.
- Be an Australian-born artist or have been resident in Australia for at least three years immediately before applications close.
- Work in oil or tempera painting.
