For hundreds of years aesthetics and the philosophy of art has been debated and discussed by scholars, artists and interested citizens alike. Questions regarding the integrity of art, its purpose or its value still interest us today, and continuing the tradition of discussing art is as important now as it has ever been.
The UQ Student Philosophy Association will be hosting a variety of speakers from different perspectives to discuss the question “How important is beauty in art?” Speakers will deliver presentations that outline their view regarding this question, and then engage in moderated discussion, with some room for the audience to participate by asking questions as well. Further details to be announced soon.
