Mindi Workshop with Deborah Murray

MINDI – A traditional grass basket historically used to carry message sticks.

Participants in this 3hr workshop will be introduced to traditional weaving ideas and techniques unique to the Far North Queensland area by Deborah Murray. Deborah was taught to weave traditional these forms and today Deborah continues to pass her weaving skills and traditional knowledge on to the community through weaving workshops. Participants will be able to create their own Mindi from plastic coated electricity wires to take home.

Cost: $30, limited places, bookings are essential. Afternoon tea and all materials will be provided.
