ZIERLE & CARTER
Through their collaborative practice, Zierle & Carter critically examine different modes of communication and what it means to be human, addressing notions of belonging, dynamics within relationships, and the transformation of limitations. Their work sites an embodied investigation into human interactions and encounters, acting as an invitation to venture into the spaces in-between the external and internal, permanent and transient, spoken and unheard. The work fundamentally explores societyʼs conventions, traditions, and rituals, often flipping them on their head, reversing orders, and disrupting the norm.
BONNIE HART
performs ‘Shit Sling’ expanded Cinema (projection, audio, participatory action)
Bonnie’s practice is an assemblage of digital and photochemical filmmaking, music, performance art and visual art. With a strong DIY handmade ethic using found materials and superceded technologies, her performance is a mimetic outward expression of a deeply introspective inquiry. Occupying a space between dualistic extremes, my work acutely reacts to circumstances within in the sociopolitical sphere whilst creating new spaces for consideration.
MARISA ALLEN
performs ‘White Trash’ (white clay, violin, newspapers, paper aeroplanes, fairylights)
Marisa is a multi disciplinary artist working in words, sound and visuals who has performed nationally and abroad. Her sublime and visually illustrative poetry performances have appeared at the ‘07 and ‘09 Queensland Poetry Festival with current invitations to perform at the 2011 QPF and for the 2011 Brisbane Festival Under the Radar, combining experimental sound works with spoken word. Marisa is the front woman for the Qmusic award nominated avant folk, experimental blues act Bremen Town Musician as violinist, vocalist and songwriter and the band performed at QPF 2009.
NICOLA MORTON
takes you on an ‘Ecstatic Breath’ workshop. The breath is your only true partner in life
Nicola is a body based half-chinese performance artist, videographer, musician, comedian. She presents a unique take on contemporary critical concepts combining them with traditional and new age philosophies to share fun times, explore phenomena and declare the end of capitalism. From a musical background, she holds a B.Music Technology from Qld Conservatorium of Music (2003).
