William Mobbs ‘Eye Candy’ & Ella Mobbs ‘Bone China’ exhibition launch.

William Mobbs lives and works in Ocean Shores in Northern NSW, having originally studied art in Brisbane and has numerous successful solo exhibitions in Byron Bay and Sydney to his credit. He now returns to exhibit his oil paintings alongside the work of his talented daughter Ella Mobbs. William’s images describe the sensuous traits of paint, always concerned with aesthetics and impact. He is constantly exploiting colour and produces works that entice with a gritty luminosity.

Illustrator and designer Ella Mobbs now resides in Toowong while she studies her Bachelor of Fine Arts. Ella’s illustrations are a collection of tattoo and comic inspired digital drawings that all have an underlying disturbance. Ella uses up-cycled vintage fine china with decals of her illustrations. She likes to remind us of the sensations of over-indulgence.

Lust for Life proudly presents William Mobbs ‘Eye Candy’ & Ella Mobbs ‘Bone China’ exhibition throughout August 2012. The exhibition launches on Thursday 2 August from 7pm – 9pm at Lust For Life located at 176 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley
