Fantastic Forms celebrates the creative practice of Merric Boyd (1888–1959), often referred to as Australia’s father of studio pottery. This exhibition features over 150 drawings and ceramics from the Bundanon Collection, presented in conversation with works by contemporary artists Nabilah Nordin, Stephen Benwell, and Rubyrose Bancroft.

Beginning with Boyd’s playful and spiritual approach to pottery and drawing, the exhibition highlights his unique depictions of Australian animals, plants, landscapes, and handwritten poetry. These are shown alongside Nordin’s sculptural forms, Benwell’s delicately painted ceramics and figurines, and Bancroft’s humorous stop-motion videos exploring cosmic and mythological themes.

Together, these works demonstrate how Boyd’s legacy continues to influence new generations of artists, offering a vivid journey into Australian creativity, expression, and form.
