Deadline:

July 12
PARKER Contemporary
PARKER Contemporary is delighted to present lithographs printed by one of Australia’s most influential behind-the-scenes figures in contemporary art, master lithographer Fred Genis (b. Netherlands 1934 – d. Australia 2022).

Fred Genis: Marks of a Master draws from the Estate of Fred Genis to reveal a selection of the remarkable body of work produced in collaboration with some of Australia’s most celebrated and accomplished artists.

This rare exhibition includes working proofs, artist proofs, trial states and a small number of remaining editioned lithographs — offering a unique insight into Genis’ technical brilliance and the collaborative process that shaped these artworks.

Featuring artworks by Allan Gamble, Charles Blackman, Colin Lanceley, Frank Hodgkinson, Fred Genis, Guan Wei, John Coburn, John Firth-Smith, John Olsen, Judy Cassab, Judy Watson, Lloyd Rees, Patsy Payne, Phillip Wolfhagen, Robert Jacks, Tim Storrier and William Robinson.

With exceptional unbroken provenance from the Estate of Fred Genis and many works never before offered for sale, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for collectors to acquire pieces that shaped the history of Australian contemporary art. Artworks printed in collaboration by Genis are held in major public collections across the world including MoMA, Tate, the NGV, AGNSW and QAGOMA.

PARKER Contemporary is grateful to the Genis family for their generosity and enthusiasm in bringing this project to life. Their support has allowed us to assemble a body of work that is both historically significant and full of contemporary relevance.
