Free Range returns to the Institute of Modern Art for an evening of experimental sound, live performance and underground music culture.
The program features three distinct performances exploring improvisation, electronics, magnetic tape and sonic experimentation:
- Botborg – A transcontinental project spanning Berlin and Meanjin/Brisbane, featuring an electronic performance by Joe Musgrove that transforms electronic signals into immersive, synaesthetic sound experiences.
- Owchi – The experimental duo of Nicola Morton (voice) and Skye McNicol (violin), blending improvised violin, echo-treated vocals and psychoacoustic soundscapes.
- Tistriallal Binds – Sound artist Ben Haes performs with damaged tape recorders and analogue playback systems, creating evolving layers of magnetic tape loops, distortion and sonic decay.
Doors open at 6:00pm.
