Artists –
Sarah Hickey’s series of female idols are inspired by images of women from a variety of contexts, histories and worlds. The complex layering of imagery and patterns reveal a personal narrative of the artist’s approach to beauty, spirituality and the feminine.
Jeff Gant is an Australian representational oil painter. Largely self-taught, Jeff names artists such as Rembrandt, Streeton and other master artists as his major influences.
Stephen Johnston’s work explores the relationship between everyday objects and the figure. He does this by juxtaposing the figure, inanimate objects and different surrounding contexts continually putting the focus back onto things that might ordinarily have been overlooked.
Rose Rigley’s artworks reference the simple illustrations from childhood storybooks and the memories that remain forming an inextricable link between past and present.
Drawing on the strange behavior of light through moving and resting waters, Lauren Young’s artworks are a mixture of abstract and hyper-realism that feature the figure in silhouette or dissolving into the environment.
