‘Veneer’ by Guido Van Helten is a new body of work that challanges the notions of conservative cultural policy vs street art and graffiti in his home town Brisbane. Through a collection of paintings on demolished Queenslander architectural materials, Guido’s work combines the classic with the contemporary, depicting a colourful alternative to the current state of the arts in Queensland.
