Deadline:

The Hold Artspace

Please join us for two solo exhibitions by Genevieve Reynolds and Jared Worthington, opening 6pm Friday, 12th September at The Hold Artspace, West End, Brisbane.

In Genevieve Reynolds’ paintings, overlapping layers of translucent colour obscure and reveal earlier compositions, forming tunnels leading into the work’s history. The resulting forms protrude and recede, oscillating between reading as objects or holes.

Jared Worthington’s video plays on the medium’s associations with the psyche, as an obtuse narrative suggests the replaying of memories and the forming of mental images. In a separate body of photographic prints, Worthington digitally constructs and manipulates images. These works are broad in scope and include formal explorations of optics, illusion and the attribution of visual meaning.

The Hold Artspace can be found at level 2, 274 Montague Rd, West End QLD. For any inquiries including sales please contact the gallery at info@theholdartspace.com or call 0414 441 922.

The exhibition will run 10th – 13th September. Opening hours: 10am – 4pm Wednesday – Friday, 10am – 2pm Saturday. If you would like a private viewing please contact Diagram to organise an appointment, email wearediagram@gmail.com or call 0404 783 166.
