Mild Manners, Brisbane Festival and QUT present “IT AIN’T DEAD”. A new generation keeping the age-old trade of hand-painted sign writing alive and kicking. Featuring works by Edward Woodley, Numskull, Marty Routledge & Joel Birch

Once a day to day practice, hand styled signage was a permanent fixture in our lives for centuries. In recent times its been all but lost, commonly replaced by the more cost effective digital form.

This project aims to draw light on the old. Through an exhibition of hand painted work, taking place in an old takeaway shop, and a large scale wall mural.
