‘The Other Fears’ takes its point of departure from the idea that fear is at its most fearsome when it is diffuse, unclear, and unanchored, with no address or cause; when it haunts us with no visible rhyme or reason. Through disconnecting once-moving images from film and television, Jacinta Giles explores the potential of the cinematic still to manifest the dark premonitions that leak from our inner world into everyday life.
