Flawed is a new installation work by Jasmin Coleman that responds to FAKE estate’s East Brisbane exhibition space. Coleman’s interest in exploring how inanimate industrial process and materials can be used to articulate human attributes will form the foundation of the work.
Jasmin Coleman is an emerging visual artist from Brisbane. Since undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Griffith University, Coleman has participated in many local and interstate group and solo exhibitions. This includes the national touring of her site responsive installation stabilisers. She has been awarded funding through Arts Queensland’s Career Development and Regional Arts Development grants programs. Coleman has also been a recipient of Australian Council’s New Work Grant. In 2013 Jasmin was selected as an Artist in Residence through Vegas Spray’s sister city Artist Residency Program (SGAR). This residency was located in Chongqing, Southwest China. Jasmin has extensive professional experience working within the visual arts and disability intersection. This work continues to impact on the conceptual impetus of her artworks.
