QUT graduate, emerging painter and jeweller Jessica Nothdurft works in a variety of media, including oil, ink, silver, gold, bronze, brass, copper and titanium. Her depictions of life experiences often include people, animals and objects. Her pared back aesthetic suggests narratives beyond the representation. Nothdurft’s art making practice is a visual autobiography, exploring multiple themes, many of which are universal. Working across multiple mediums, her works are both observations and interpretations that are portrayed in a pure and simple way, inspired by both intimate relationships, youth, emotional responses and the lifelong impacts of domestic and family violence.
