Created specifically for Night Feast, Total Vibration is a major new site-specific installation by Sydney artist Jonny Niesche, presented by Brisbane Powerhouse in partnership with the Institute of Modern Art.
Transforming the Stores Studio into an immersive environment of reflection, movement and sound, the installation features two monumental flexible mirrors that ripple, shimmer and vibrate in response to an original electronic soundtrack by acclaimed British musician Mark Pritchard. Together, light, sound and reflection create a hypnotic sensory experience that blurs the boundaries between painting, sculpture and installation.
Known for his luminous works using mirror, voile and industrial materials, Niesche creates immersive environments that encourage contemplation and heightened perception. Total Vibration continues his exploration of space, light and materiality through a dynamic site-specific commission.
