Deadline:

Webb Gallery, QCA

Justin Garnsworthy’s inaugural solo exhibition at the Webb Gallery comprises of large-scale digital print works on aluminium composite panels. Blurring distinctions between process and product, analogue and digital; Garnsworthy confounds viewer’s certainties about optical perception.

Each work in the exhibition has undergone a series of actions that are thought of as methods of Alchemy pertaining to Surrealism; including physical object manipulation, scanning, cutting, photoshopping, bricolaging and printing to form large digital frottage compositions. The use of alchemy as a method in relation to the artists’ processes is exemplified where ordinary pre-existing materials can be transformed into artworks of new significance.

Opening Event: Friday, 23rd March 2018, 6 – 8 pm
Venue: Webb Gallery, QCA, 226 Grey Street, South Bank
Gallery Hours: 10 am – 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday
