Lee Lombardi is a Brisbane-based artist examining the contradictions inherent in realism, where representation presents only an unreality. Employing a meticulous and academic approach to image making, his intricate paintings and drawings are constructed from personal photographic archives, motion picture screenshots and found images. A finalist in this year’s Sunshine Coast Art Prize, he graduated with a first-class Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons), Queensland College of Art, 2012, and is currently working on group and solo projects.
