Side Gallery

A dual showcase across Mt Coot-tha Botanic Garden and Side Gallery, Lesley Kendall’s new body of work, succulent. continues to explore the relationship between nature and the viewer. Delicate, hand made paper sculptures of succulents, insects and rocks are collected like specimens and placed beneath cloches, adorned on wall mounts and painted with ink and watercolour. The exhibition at Side Gallery brings the installation from the Cactus House into the gallery for the audience to acquaint themselves with the realistic portrayals of Lesley’s paper practice.
