Linda Kypriadakis: Beyond the Surface

Deadline:

11 August
-
August 17
ArtSpace Teneriffe

Queensland artist Linda Kypriadakis presents Beyond the Surface, a meditative solo exhibition exploring the spiritual and material qualities of water as seen from above. Through a series of luminous abstract paintings, Kypriadakis invites viewers into a quiet space of reflection—where layered colour fields and subtle textures mirror both the stillness and movement of water.

Drawing on influences from colour field painting, South Korean minimalism, and landscape traditions, the works balance personal memory and formal abstraction. Created on aluminium composite panels, each piece evolves through cycles of intuitive mark-making, glazing, and sanding—inviting slow looking and calm contemplation.

The exhibition runs for one week at ArtSpace in the historic Wool Stores building at Jan Manton Gallery, a location that complements the artist’s themes with its proximity to the Brisbane River and its timbered architecture.

Kypriadakis will be in residence daily from 10:30am – 4:00pm.
