MADE 2026 is artisan’s inaugural Queensland Craft and Design Sector Symposium, bringing makers, designers, arts organisations and sector leaders together to discuss the future of contemporary craft and design in Australia.
The program explores the priorities, partnerships and actions needed to strengthen the sector, with discussions around visibility, skills, access to collectors and markets, sustainability and the future of regional and metropolitan practice.
The day includes a keynote by Sally Brand (QAGOMA), the national plenary A Nation of Makers, Queensland-focused panel discussions and afternoon breakout sessions examining what matters and what works across the sector.
Speakers and panellists include Gina Fairley, Sally Brand, Dr Elizabeth Shaw, Brian Parkes, Travis Tiddy, Aimee Frodsham, Melanie Gibson, Carmel Haugh and Angela Spillane.
The event is presented in person at the State Library of Queensland or via livestream. Thirty percent of in-person places are reserved for regional and remote Queensland makers.
