‘Consorting’ is a body of collaborative works created by contemporary artist Madi Walker alongside members of the community who haven’t picked up a brush since kindergarten. The project invited participants to step outside their comfort zones, come together for an afternoon of making, and explore artistic expression in an open and playful way. This exhibition presents the outcomes of these shared creative experiences.
Madeleine Walker is an artist based in Meanjin, interested in pushing the boundaries of what it means to be an artist. Currently completing a Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art (CAIA) at QCAD, her practice embraces bold, large-scale formats and leans into the ludicrous.
