Matt James is a Brisbane–based artist primarily interested in landscape painting and drawing. His studio and en plein air work aim to capture the movement and energy of the environment. Having grown up in rural west Wales, his love of the outdoors drives his work.
The work on show at Wild Canary in Brookfield will be his first solo exhibition. Matt is a recent finalist and was highly commended at the 2020 Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 20,000 and a finalist in the 2019 Marie Ellis OAM Prize for Drawing.
