Deadline: 28 October

With the support of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, Museums & Galleries Queensland (M&G QLD) is offering the Mentorship and Internship Program 2022–2024 for paid staff and volunteers in public, not-for-profit museums and galleries located in Queensland.

The Program makes possible opportunities for staff and volunteers to access expertise in cultural institutions in Australia, to learn from leading industry professionals and to build lasting networks.

There are two different types of programs offered:

For full-time or part-time paid professionals in Queensland public galleries and museums, one program is offered:

Program 1: Gallery or Museum Mentorship

6 opportunities of up to $3,500 each

For volunteers working in Queensland public galleries and museums, one program is offered:

Program 2: Volunteer Internship

5 opportunities of up to $3,500 each

Formerly known as M&G QLD’s Mentorship, International Fellowship and Internship Program, this Program was disrupted by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions, venue closures and other impacts at its commencement in early 2020. However in 2022, with Australia reaching its vaccination targets and people feeling more confident to travel nationally, we are delighted to resume the Program with a revised scope and timeline to deliver a COVID-safe learning and professional development opportunity to build the capacity of our sector.
