Merinda Davies: Symbiotic Marathon Circuit Training

Deadline:

July 18
Outer Space

Join artists Merinda Davies and Guy Ritani for Symbiotic Marathon Circuit Training, a participatory workshop exploring breath, movement, imagination, writing and embodied awareness as pathways into somatic and relational intelligence.

Presented at Outer Space, the workshop invites participants to collectively consider ecological futures through creative exercises involving movement, drawing, listening, writing and sensory engagement. Designed for all experience levels, the session encourages participants to reflect on interconnected relationships between humans, other species and the environments they share.

Following the workshop, Davies will present the durational performance Symbiotic Marathon, attempting to run the distance of a marathon on a treadmill that powers grow lights sustaining living plants. Transforming physical endurance into an act of ecological care, the performance considers the body’s vulnerability within environmental systems and asks what it means to continue breathing in an increasingly uncertain ecological future.

The event is free to attend, with registrations essential due to limited capacity.
