Eskola’s work is characterised by an interest in the articulation of space, colour and light in the ‘post-internet’ age. With a background in time-based media, Eskola attempts to create atmospheric paintings that prompt sensory engagement.

Her new body of work focuses on the framing of light and silence. With the sky as a flat workspace, Eskola overlays patterns and subtle spaces that occur in everyday life and activities.

These familiar patterns and forms evoke a rhythmic sense of space that is both moving and still.
