Mira Oosterweghel presents new performative and sculptural works, continuing her exploration of the body and its relationship to site and structures. Attempting to negotiate the psychological terrain between bodies and the external environment, Unstable Moments creates a situation oscillating between notions of danger and play – the desire to defy gravity is contrasted against the reality of hitting the ground.

Utilising repetitive gesture and play in conjunction with sculptural apparatuses, Unstable Moments engages performatively with the architectural space of the gallery at Metro Arts. The exhibition investigates how the physical environment affects our bodies and physiological states.
