Presenting the work of 16 Brisbane artists, Mirroring Minjerribah is an exhibition that brings the stories and landscape of Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island into focus through photographic projections and prints coupled with a live music performance.
This one night only event features site-specific work by emerging artists from Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art and Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
Drawing from a six day residency on North Stradbroke Island each work offers a unique perspective and artistic response, reflecting on the rich landscape and myriad stories of the island and its people.
Artist Kate Lund described the experience as “an emotional and eye-opening experience. With such a short amount of time to create, the trip encouraged us to think quickly, pushing our creativity to the limit”.
This free event will be held at Jugglers Art Space and is presented by Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art and Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
Artists: Phoebe Bognár, Molly Burley, Kathryn Farmer, Darius Fong, Teresa Fornataro, Ally Giebeler, Lawrence Casey, Dominic Jaquet, Patrick Lester, Kate Lund, Merete Megarrity, Cait O’Sullivan, Jun Park, Stephanie Rouyer, Rebecca Weir and Abigail Wolfe.
