MMCA Residency run by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), is calling for applications from artists and researchers working in diverse artistic disciplines and conducting professional research projects for the International Artist/Researcher Residency Programme 2025. The residency takes place in Seoul, Korea, for a period of 10 weeks.
The programmes will provide opportunities to engage in creative exchanges with prominent art professionals and various residency programmes including exhibitions, open studios and other cultural events in a supportive environment.
The residency terms are:
- 3 April – 12 June 2025
- 3 July – 11 September 2025
- 25 September – 4 December 2025
International Artist Residency Programme 2025
- Discipline: Visual Arts
- Number of artists: 1 artist for each term/3 artists in total
- Support: Provided with a live-in-studio with a single room, Monthly grant of 1,000,000 KRW (approx. 730 USD), total 3,000,000 KRW for the entire residency period
International Researcher Residency Programme 2025
- Research areas: Modern and Contemporary Asian Art
- Number of researchers: 4 researchers in total
- Support: Provided with a live-in-studio with a single room, Monthly grant of 1,000,000 KRW (approx. 730 USD), total 3,000,000 KRW for the entire residency period
- The resident must deliver a presentation or workshop to share the research results and publish a final research paper at the end of the year for MMCA Residency’s publication.
