MPavilion’s unique annual architecture commission and design event for Melbourne is partnering with Australia’s art magazine of record, Art Monthly Australia, to present an innovative new writing award to explore the flourishing field of interdisciplinary practice within art and design.
Australian writers are invited to submit a proposal (no more than 200 words) for an essay (no more than 2000 words) exploring one or more aspects of the relationship between art and design today. The winning writer will receive $3,000 to develop their submission for an essay to be published in the October 2015 issue of Art Monthly Australia. The winning writer will also be invited as a guest of MPavilion to present their essay as part of the official 2015/16 season of MPavilion in Melbourne.
Funding available: Successful applicant is awarded $3,000 + GST for submission of final essay for publication.
Important dates: Applications close 5:00pm 30 June 2015. Outcome of application notification 15 July 2015. Submission of final essay by successful applicant 31 August 2015.
